Chapter Model
The Model
Thank you for being part of the Reach the Children Family.  We appreciate your willingness to make a difference in people’s lives.
As each chapter will be unique, we expect you to adapt this model however it best suits your particular chapter.  The following are our recommendations for successful chapter development.
Chapter Structure
Seven key roles make up the Chapter Board:
Chapter President
Administrative Services
Marketing/PR
Financial Services
Fund-Raising
Humanitarian Services
Assistant
The chapter may choose to also have a Chapter Advisory Board, made up of invited, influential members of the community.
Many more individuals will be Chapter Members.
Chapter President
Report to the Chapter Development Director
Lead Chapter Management Team in organizing chapter activities
Motivate chapter members and keep their efforts focused
Administrative Services
Report to the Chapter President
Educate chapter members interested in expeditions about such opportunities
Coordinate collection/distribution of donations in-kind when applicable
Facilitate communication within the chapter
Marketing/PR

Use Reach the Children materials to gain support in the chapter’s local community
Actively promote opportunities for involvement
Encourage local newspapers and radio stations to print/air spots on how local people are getting involved at an international level.
Write regular articles and press releases for local publications and RTC publications.
Financial Services
Report to the Chapter President
Process all donations in a timely manner
Accurately record all financial transactions (budget, expenses, donations, etc.)
Send financial report bi-weekly to RTC Accountant
Fund-Raising
Report to the Chapter President
This person is a key organizer and coordinator of activities and events that will bring in funds to Reach the Children.  S/he may also help the chapter raise funds for specific chapter projects.
An initial list and monthly updates of ideas will be provided to this person so that
s/he can better organize events.
Humanitarian Services
Report to the Chapter President
Actively promote linking local resources with the needs in Africa.
Assistant
Report to the Chapter President
It is impossible for only one person to do and coordinate everything required for a successful chapter.  This person assists in any way the Chapter President chooses    (i.e. periodically filling in for other board members, taking  on secretarial responsibilities, doing research, etc.)
Chapter Advisory Board &
General Chapter Members
Contribute to chapter efforts (may be involved on a periodic or consistent basis).
Provide resources and facilitate connections to individuals and businesses in their communities.
Thank you!
We are so excited about launching Reach the Children chapters!  We look forward to working with you and hope that we can help you Reach the Children of Africa.
