THE SCHOOL IS FALLING DOWN ON THEIR HEADS
Kanyogoga Primary School was founded in 1964 as a government aided school in Mukono district; one hour drive from Kampala, Uganda.
It is located in a rural community where the majority of the people earn their living as peasant farmers.
They typically grow cash crops such as sugar cane and tea.
The entire district has 15 primary schools. Of these, 8 are government aided and benefit from the Universal Primary Education program of Uganda.
Just like the rest of the country the local government of Mukono is severely constrained of financial government support due to the competing country-wide demands and limited distributions from the central government.
At Kanyogoga Primary school the existing structures are in dire need of a main hall reconstruction to accommodate its enrollment of 531 pupils. Parents made efforts to put up a two classroom block working as a main hall, but it lacked a main beam to make the walls strong. At this moment the roof and the walls are collapsing and there is danger to the students who study there.
We have raised 0ne-half of the funds needed for this project. Please help us raise the other half.

GOATS WILL MULTIPLY
In a rural community in Africa it is very difficult to feed and clothe a family.
In addition, it is even more difficult to send children to school, seek medical help and provide opportunities for a better life for children.
Raising goats can be the answer to some, if not all, of these problems AND provides a way to MULTIPLY the benefits for many.
Adults receive training on goat keeping: breeding, feeding, medical needs, housing and protection. They then prepare a place for the animal and they save enough funds for future breeding and possible medical emergencies. (Their "skin" in the game.)
When the training is completed the family is given one or two pregnant goats with the understanding that the first two female kids from each goat are then given to other families who are also trained and ready to receive their goat(s). This process is repeated over and over again.
Once this "sharing" obligation is met, the family is free to raise their own goat herd.
Goats are an excellent source of protean rich milk, cheese, yogurt, meat and even leather as their productive years pass away.
Not only do these items supplement the pressing needs of the family, but they can also be bartered or sold for other needed items such as eggs, chickens, school fees, school uniforms, medicine, clothing, garden seeds and so on.
Goats are a wonderful donation for any family in rural Africa and can really be the means of starting on a road of self-reliance.
PLEASE GIVE A FAMILY A LIFE-CHANGING GOAT (or two). (See $1 projects below)

ongoing ProjectS
EDUCATION
Almost 60 percent of children in sub-Saharan Africa between the ages of 15 and 17 are not in school. Most of them are girls. Teaching girls about menstruation, how to sew reusable pads, and providing teen sponsorship's, is reducing these numbers. |
WATER AND AGRICULTURE
This is a picture of Khufikoko Spring in Western Kenya before and after we provided a way to turn muddy, bacteria-infested ground water into clean, clear drinking water. Each spring we refurbish costs approx. $1750. Each spring provides clean water for 20 to 50 families. Each family can have 3 to 10 children. Each spring is a blessing in the lives of a lot of people. |
HEALTH
When a child is ill they cannot attend school, thus their chances of becoming self-reliant are slim. We focus on wellness by providing vaccines, medical supplies, and medical clinics where our doctors and nurses work with local medical people to administer medical help to individuals in the greatest need. |
